Privacy-compliant applications

By default, applications developed with GoodBarber have many tracker libraries installed which poses a privacy problem.
I think that we should be able to remove libraries we don't need. For example, for me, Countly, Flurry, Facebook and Google AdMob are completely useless and being installed reduces the trust of privacy conscious users.
On the other hand, if we want to, I think we should also be able to remove geolocation.
Thank you.

Privacy compliance is a subject we take very seriously at GoodBarber. That’s why we created the Privacy Center, available in every back office at:
/manage/settings/privacycenter/
Our goal is simple: give app creators full control over all privacy-related settings in a clear and centralized way.
Version 1 (already live)
1/ Manage, activate or disable each permission requested by the app (camera, geolocation, etc.).
2/ External SDKs are not pre-installed by default. They are only included if the corresponding feature is activated.
→ Example: if you don’t activate Google AdMob, its SDK is not included. If you turn Countly off, its SDK is removed after recompilation.
This directly addresses the concerns raised in this thread.
What makes our Privacy Center unique
We redesigned the whole privacy experience:
• Centralization: all privacy settings in one dedicated space.
• Dynamic permissions: only the permissions really used in your app are displayed.
• Granularity: some permissions are mandatory, others optional, always explained clearly.
• Platform awareness: permissions are marked for iOS, Android or PWA.
• Kids apps: incompatible permissions and SDKs are automatically disabled.
• Only required libraries: your app embeds only what is strictly necessary.
Additional features
• CMP support: integrate Google’s Funding Choices CMP (IAB TCF compliant) to collect user consent.
• Legal docs: generate and publish Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy based on templates.
• Advanced settings: disable Google Fonts or declare your DPO/representative in the EU, to comply with local regulations (for example in Germany).
What’s next
Version 2 will go further by showing a clear list of all SDKs embedded in your app — and those that are not — for even more transparency and peace of mind.
We believe this makes GoodBarber one of the most advanced no-code app builders when it comes to privacy.

Jerome Granados it took a long long time but I'm very happy with the result and happy for the version 2 on the "roadmap". Thank you for your great work!

On December 18, 2025 I'll make a cake for us to celebrate 3 years waiting for this. Incredible!

What strikes me most after almost a year and a half is not the lack of a solution from Goodbarber but the near absence of pressure from users. It seems that privacy is the last priority for us app developers.

I've been waiting more than 6 month to start two apps I need to make and I can't do it while GoodBarber doesn't allow us to remove Facebook and other privacy nightmare sdk. This is really terrible for EU laws...

Christophe Spinetti any news on this? Is there any ETA? I can't start a new educational app for children I need because it couldn't be considered child safe in EU because GoodBarbar has facebook and other big data harvesters sdk's by default :(

This is every day now! Please GoodBarber, allow us to remove Google, Facebook, SDK, please! Otherwise we can't use our apps in Europe!

Facebook owner Meta fined €1.2bn for mishandling user information. And we still have no way to remove Facebook libraries from our apps...

I wonder how this is not a top priority for Good Barber users if by law we have to comply with the GDPR! Ummm...

Google Font is also a tracker and not privacy-friendly. Here in Germany, it is even liable to legal action. Therefore, a data protection-compliant implementation with BEAUTIFUL fonts should be offered. Or a separate upload option.

Michael Wirkner: No doubt about it. All over the European Union, not only Germany. I think that GoodBarber should allow users to clean up as much as possible anything that might track users and goes against the RGPD.

Michael Wirkner: The update of one of my apps was just refused by App Store because of Guideline 5.1.2 - Legal - Privacy - Data Use and Sharing. Now I've to implement App Tracking Transparency and say I collect users data - I DON'T - and loose people's confidence because GoodBarber just doesn't think this is a priority...
